About Our Story

Discover how firsthand experience shaped a commitment to restoring education after years of disruption.

About L.E.A.P.

L.E.A.P. is a non-profit organization whose sole purpose is to support education in the West African country of Liberia.

After 14 years of civil unrest, Robert Saydee, a native of Liberia, went back to Liberia after being away from the country for 12 years due to the war. He saw the devastation that was done to the country. The entire infrastructure of the country was demolished, including buildings, power plants, water plants, and, most importantly, the educational system of Liberia.

For those 14 years, the children were not able to go to school at all. So, we have a generation in Liberia that basically will not have a good shot at life because of the grave interruption of war.

A few years after the trip, it was when Robert Saydee had this idea of helping to educate the children of Liberia, hence the formation of L.E.A.P..
